FCAN Project Managers Joshua Kempeneer, Rima Parker, and Elene Rich
Since 1995, Family Care Association (FCAN) has collaborated with Nigerian NGOs such as Pro-Health International, Eye Care Africa, and Smile Africa to address the medical needs of Nigerian people in the most rural areas in all States of the country.
On a typical medical project, Family Care assembles a team of medically trained volunteers for each weeklong project, gathering anywhere from 35 – 60 doctors, pediatricians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and logistical personnel. For the most part, state and local governments sponsor the prescription drugs used in the free clinic programs.
In a given year, Family Care Association Nigeria may collaborate in 25 health care programs and treat 80,000 patients free-of-charge!
